About
The Snowy Owl is a majestic predator of the Arctic, perfectly adapted to life in the frozen north. With its striking white plumage — the male almost entirely white, the female marked with dark barring — it commands an almost supernatural presence against the snow-covered landscape. Unlike most owls, the Snowy Owl is largely diurnal, hunting during the continuous daylight of the Arctic summer. It relies primarily on lemmings, and a single owl may consume more than 1,600 lemmings in a year.
